Earth Week Service Learning Day/Invasive Species Pull

8 am – 5 pm, Pflender Hall 241

Wednesday, April 23

Grill Out and Chill Out

5:30-9:30 p.m., Pi Kappa Alpha parking lot, 629 University St.,

Grill Out and Chill Out  sponsored by The Purdue University Dance Marathon and Representatives of Interfraternal Social Education. Proceeds will benefit Riley Hospital for Children.

Movie screenings: Chasing Ice and Young Ice

6:30 – 9:30 p.m. Fowler Hall

Movie screenings of Chasing Ice, and Young Ice (movie premiere), sponsored by the Purdue Climate Change Research Center. Young Ice is a documentary on the loss of arctic ice, produced by Paul Shepson, an analytical and atmospheric chemistry professor at Purdue.

Moonlight Pancake Breakfast

9 pm to 1 am, Agricultural Administration Building lawn

Free pancakes and music are featured. Sponsored by the Purdue Agricultural Council.

Students plant trees on Harrison Street for Arbor Day 2013Tree Planting

Keynote lecture by Julian Ageyman

Keynote lecture by Julian Ageyman, the originator of the concept of just sustainability, the full integration of social justice and sustainability. An environmental social scientist, his expertise and current research interests are in relations between humans and the environment.

Purdue Grand Prix

8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Grand Prix Track, near corner of Cherry Lane and McCormick Road

Qualifying heats for final six positions start at 11:30 a.m. Feature race at 2:30 p.m. Free shuttle from several campus pickup points; recommended due to very limited parking at track. Tickets: $10 at gate, $7 in advance; children under 12, $5. For more, visit purduegrandprix.org
